Jemma Barash

Hiya, I’m Jemma and I’m in my 4th year at KCL.

Last year I intercalated in Neuroscience and the dream is to become a Neurosurgeon. I’m currently in my first year of clinics and live in Brixton in South London.

Outside of medicine, I like chilling with my mates, scuba diving when I can and walking the family dog at least once a year!!

I’ve really enjoyed the past few years as a member of the student Jewish Medical Association and met lots of lovely friends here.

I’m super excited to continue the great work of our past chairs alongside Fabianne and really looking forward to a fab year ahead!

Fabianne Viner

Hey I’m Fabianne, I’m in my 4th year at UCL and am originally from Manchester.

I intercalated in Primary Health Care last year and am currently in my first year of clinics.

I enjoy spending time with friends (many who are from the student Jewish Medical Association) and play netball for the medical school. I am also a keen runner and gym goer.

I’m very excited for all of the events that we have planned for this year and am particularly looking forward to meeting the freshers as well as our old members.

Please feel free to contact us whenever, wherever and about whatever.

We can’t wait to hear from you!

Elke Ben-Hur (North West)

Guy Benshitrit (Leeds)

My name is Guy, and I’m from Glasgow. I’m a 5th year medical student at Leeds, and have an intercalated degree in clinical anatomy.

I am currently on a musculoskeletal placement at Leeds General Infirmary and will be moving on to surgery and emergency medicine before sitting my finals! I have been a part of student Jewish Medical Association throughout my time at Leeds, and look forward to carrying it forward this year.

I’d like to welcome all new and existing Leeds Jewish medical, dental and applied healthcare students to sJMA.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me at for anything!

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Elliot Brown (Birmingham)

Sam Calmanson (Birmingham)

Leora Robinson (Nottingham)

My name is Leora Robinson and I’m a 4th year medical student at The University of Nottingham.

Nottingham’s fourth year programme consists of rotating through all the specialties in hospitals in and around Nottingham with one month of a special study module. I have just had a great experience with this module on an IFMSA exchange programme in Barcelona where I spent a month in a paediatric department.

There is a small group of Jewish medical students at Nottingham, therefore we hope attend the London events this year.

I very much look forward to welcoming and meeting the new students and am available to offer any help and support.
