Transplantation and organ donation have been widely debated in Israel and have also been the subject of much discussion amongst Jews in other countries.

Recently Rabbi Shlomo Brody has taken on the position as Director of Ematai, an organisation based in Israel, which looks at these topics in the context of halacha and of end-of-life issues in general.

Ematai has developed the “Option 18 initiative” which aims to make information about transplantation and organ donation more widely available including. Further details about Option 18 and how to access Ematai can be accessed here.
