Western Galilee Hospital

Western Galilee Hospital serves the population of the Western Galilee region – close to 500,000 people – Jews, Moslems and Christians, with 650 hospital beds, 62 departments and medical units, and an extensive variety of clinics, institutes and laboratories. The hospital staff reflects the diverse population of the region, working together to maintain and offer the highest standards in quality health care and professionalism. It is also a front line hospital for wounded soldiers and civilians with a fully equipped underground hospital to protect patients from both conventional and chemical warfare.  In 2006 there was a direct rocket hit on the hospital causing severe damage.  Fortunately neither patients nor staff were injured. The hospital is affiliated with the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion Institute of Technology, Haifa.
